Another name added to the list of tragic celebrity deaths this year, 36 year old, Adam Goldstein also known as DJ AM. The popular DJ, known for his high profile relationships with Nicole Ritchie and Mandy Moore, was found dead in his New York apartment Friday August 28th at 5:20pm. According to the Associated Press, autopsy reports are as yet inconclusive, but the cause of death is suspected to be an accidental drug overdose. Drug paraphernalia and prescription pills were retrieved from his apartment Friday night. Police report that Goldstein was discovered when a close friend visited his apartment because he hadn't heard from the DJ in a few days. The friend was unable to get into Goldstein's apartment and so called 911. Firefighters arrived and busted the door in. Goldstein was found laying in bed wearing nothing but sweatpants. MTV had been preparing to air a new show called Gone Too Far about drug intervention of which DJ AM was the host. The show was set to air in October but MTV has not commented on whether or not it will move forward with the airing. Goldstein himself battled drug addiction and had spent the last 9 years sober. He signed unto the show with the intention to help addicts overcome their demons. His death comes as a shock after just a little under a year ago he and drummer Travis Barker survived a deadly plane crash that killed the other four passengers aboard in September 2008.

It is heartbreaking to see another celebrity pass in what has been a bizarre string of celebrity deaths this year. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of DJ AM, Adam Goldstein.
